SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Under general supervision, the purpose of the job is to provide a variety of office support.  Employees in this classification provide general information about court procedures and citations.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of tasks performed within this classification.  It is not necessarily descriptive of any one position in the class.  The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such duties are a logical assignment to the position.

  • Greets visitors and responds to questions regarding court procedures; provides information and materials; accepts payments.
  • Processes citations.
  • Prepares and files a variety of documents (tickets, complaints.)
  • Verifies insurance coverage presented to the court office and files closed court document cases in the municipal court.
  • Balances and deposits court fines, fees, bonds and miscellaneous cash receipts.
  • Interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers and others in the course of daily work.
  • Regular and timely attendance are required for this position.
  • Performs related duties as directed when such duties are a logical and appropriate assignment to the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Requires High School diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by one (1) year of clerical or customer service experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.  Requires obtaining Notary Public License within thirty (30) days of employment.

The selected candidate must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background, and credit check as a condition of employment.
