What We’re Looking For

The Municipal Court Services Department is recruiting for an experienced Training Specialist who has a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, public administration, engineering, industrial technology or a related field and two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in developing and conducting training programs for educational related purposes. The candidate will be a part of the Municipal Court Training Unit.  This unit will work with subject matter experts to design, develop and maintain educational material while contributing substantive expertise to program and material development. 

The position will perform/coordinate a wide variety of responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Provide training as necessary and appropriate for new hires and current staff, including eLearning delivery.

  • Provide training to end-users; may provide basic desktop training on new systems and hardware.

  • Perform quality assurance checks and control data integrity.

  • Oversee data tracking, including education records tracking

  • Make necessary changes and improvements based upon feedback and lessons learned.

  • Monitor compliance with mandated training requirements.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

  • Adhere to assigned work schedule as outlined in the Department and city attendance policies and procedures; ensures all behaviors comply with the City’s Personnel Rules and Regulations.

Preference may be given to applicants who possess the following:

  • Skill in limited jurisdiction court processes

  • Texas Court Clerk Certification

  • Advanced experience with eLearning software

  • Advanced experience with SharePoint

  • Proficiency in problem solving ability

  • Initiative and self-motivation with the proven ability to achieve results

  • Experience in public speaking and/or presenting to large and small group

    Other requirements:

  • Valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Must be able to pass a CJIS fingerprint background check
