Under direct supervision, performs support functions for Municipal Court; to include services and programs for juvenile offenders. Performs related duties as required.
Essential Job Functions
o Responsible for customer service to public, verify insurance, explain options, clear warrants.
o Performs support function by attending to the data entry of citations.
o Answering phones, processing affidavits, complaints and warrants.
o Stamp and process outgoing mail.
o Processes appearance and surety bonds.
o Process daily cash collections by receiving and receipting payments at the window.
o Verifies and mails out warrant information.
o Assist public at counter with fine payments and all types of dispositions of cases.
o Handles correspondence.
o Responsible for regular attendance and arriving to work on time.
o Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience
Graduation from High School or completion of GED and one year of experience as a Municipal Court Clerk; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Possess a Level 1 or higher T.C.C.A certification, or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment. Must be available to work mandatory overtime. Must have valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License with acceptable driving record. Bilingual (Spanish) skills preferred but not required
Supplemental InformationKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Good knowledge of general office practices and basic English; ability to type 35 wpm with accuracy; ability to organize and maintain filing systems; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, general public and elected officials.
Skill in the use of a computer and in the operation of software, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and court software. Ability to provide good customer service in stressful situations. Must be able to exercise organizational and time management skills. Ability to handle cash receipts and balance cash drawer on a daily basis.
