The City of Seabrook is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-service-focused Court Clerk II to join our Municipal Court Services team. This role performs a variety of intermediate-level administrative, clerical, and technical duties to support daily court operations while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional customer service in person, by phone, email, fax, and online chat regarding fines, payment plans, court settings, warrants, and related inquiries.
- Collect, reconcile, and record fines, fees, bonds, and payments using Incode software.
- Process citations, bonds, pleas, and open records requests in compliance with laws and policies.
- Assist defendants with payment plans, community service, deferred dispositions, compliance dismissals, and driving safety courses.
- Prepare and maintain court dockets, legal documents, and courtroom setups.
- Coordinate with judges, prosecutors, law enforcement, attorneys, and the public.
- Support collection efforts, case compliance reviews, and dismissal processing.
- Serve as backup support to Court Clerk I as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- At least two (2) years of experience with court policies and procedures.
- Two (2) years of general office, clerical, or customer service experience.
- Valid Texas driver's license with a good driving record.
- Texas Municipal Court Clerk Level I Certification required.
- Must obtain TLETS certification within 12 months of hire.
- Strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required, Incode software preferred.
- Bilingual skills preferred.
- Prior cash-handling and reconciliation experience preferred.

Working Conditions

- Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.

- Grade: 106 | FLSA: Non-Exempt
