Schedule Commitment 

The Courts hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Regular attendance is essential to meet the needs of the public. The team operates on a hybrid work schedule, and this position becomes eligible to participate upon successful completion of the probationary period and demonstrated proficiency in effectively working in a hybrid capacity.

Pay Plan

This opportunity is non-exempt and on Pay Grade #6. The full Pay Grade Range is shown for growth and development opportunities within the grade. Salary determination is supported by budget availability and qualifications of the candidate to maintain internal equity. 

Hiring Range: $20.12

Min $20.12 ($41,851)

Mid $24.64 ($51,253)

Max $29.17 ($60,678)

Eligibility

Experience 


Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • 2+ years of proven work history in customer service, data entry, cash handling, and preparing daily deposits.

  • Certified Court Clerk Level I (CCCI) or the ability to obtain certification within 2 years of hire.

Preferences

  • Additional experience beyond the minimum requirement.
  • Some college coursework.
  • Bilingualism.
  • Texas Municipal Court experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Knowledge
  • Working knowledge of Municipal Court operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with legal definitions, terminology, and the preparation and processing of court documents.
  • Knowledge of computers, software applications, and cash handling practices and processes.
Skills
  • Proficient in using common office equipment, including personal computers, ten-key adding machines, telephones, fax machines, and copy machines.
  • Ability to digitally document Municipal Court data accurately.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for interacting with City departments, attorneys, and the public.
  • Customer service skills to handle interactions courteously and efficiently.
Abilities
  • Ability to meet deadlines related to court and trial appearances, filing dates, and daily posting requirements.
  • Ability to assess situations, remain calm, and respond appropriately.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy under pressure.
