Position Description

Reporting directly to the Court Administrator, this Assistant Court Administrator plays a critical role in managing court operations within both Criminal and Civil Courts. These divisions encompass customer care, court/legal support, case compliance, and community services. Key responsibilities include overseeing daily court operations, such as case management, docket scheduling, courtroom assignments, and division supervision. This role prioritizes exceptional customer services and efficient case flow while strictly adhering to all court policies and procedures. This position serves as the acting administrator when the Court Administrator is unavailable. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential for effectively managing court personnel, interacting with stakeholders, and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the court.

Vacation, Holidays, and Sick Leave

The city offers vacation and sick leave, as well as ten paid holidays. Full time employees earn three weeks of vacation during their first year of employment and 10 hours of sick leave a month.

What We're Looking For

  • Associate’s degree in a relevant field, paralegal studies, legal administration, criminal justice.
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in local government.
  • Requires one year of supervisory or lead experience within a Municipal Court setting.
  • Progressive experience in a Municipal Court environment, with a strong emphasis on case flow management, financial administration, and state statistical reporting is preferred.
  • Texas Municipal Courts Level 2 certification (TMCEC).
  • Proficiency in computer software applications commonly used in government operations.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License.

Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
